With the blessing of the Board of Ministry of Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference, the BM Ministry under Board of Evangelism (BOE) successfully initiated the 1st BM Lay Preacher Course in 2017. Ten students from all over Sarawak enrolled for the course. They bore great responsibilities. Besides studying hard, they shouldered the responsibilities of maintaining quality service in the church at the same time. Although it was very challenging, they managed to strive on resolutely and joyfully for the past year.<\/p>\n

\nMy wish for the BOE BM Ministry are: 1. To produce more BM preachers and lay preachers especially from the indigenous congregation. 2. To see more BM theological courses available to train leaders of the BM churches. 3. To see those BM Ministries under the Chinese churches become independent and prosper steadily. 4. To see that more BM materials and books especially in liturgy, regulations, teaching materials and spiritual books, are published.<\/p>\n

\nI hope that BOE BM Ministry will reach all its goals in 2025, that is to have 10-15 BM churches or preaching centres; 25 BM pastors, 35 BM lay preachers and 3 BM lecturers. I hope through hard work, fervent prayers and collaboration, more people will offer themselves to serve the Lord. Let\u2019s grow spiritually and share the gospel diligently and more people will come to the Lord.<\/p>\n

\nI pray that there will be more BM pastors so that we can establish BM District. We will be able to be self-supporting and have enough lay preachers to assist in the growth of the church. I hope that 10-15 BM churches will be built across Sarawak in the years to come. I strongly believe that with the mighty power of God, BM Ministry will attain all these targets one day!<\/p>\n

\nThanks to the Lord that 19 churches in Sarawak have set up BM ministry. This is indeed gratifying. Urbanization has provided opportunities for BM ministry. Many rural indigenous people have moved to town areas. I hope that more churches will respond to the changing social fabric and break the language barrier to bring the gospel to the indigenous people.<\/p>\n

\nAfter serving in this ministry for several years, I find it full of prospect. With the encouraging development of the BM Ministry, I hope more BM pastors and BM lay preachers will be raised so that setting up of BM District will be materialized and BM churches will become more systematic and effective in management and advancement.<\/p>\n

\nI hope that BOE BM Ministry will provide sound equipping training to the Indigenous believers. There is urgent needs to nurture them and help them to attain spiritual maturity. This will result in them to be motivated to preach and to teach as well. In 2009, the short-term mission team of Mei Ann MC stepped out to the remote areas to serve especially the Penan people. We also trained them so that they would be able to serve their own people. There are not enough pastors to shepherd them. Praise God those trained are now able to lead the Sunday School on their own.<\/p>\n

\nAfter joining the BM Lay Preacher Course, I realized that the Sarawak Chinese Methodist church is a church with sound teaching basis, organized system, financial strength, quality pastors, and multi-ministry. Thus, I hope that more BM churches will be established as there are a lot of lost souls to be saved. I also hope that more BM speaking pastors will join forces and that BM congregation will grow constantly in order to build the church of Christ.<\/p>\n

\nI wish that the BM mission will grow to produce missionaries and preachers, to make more vessels of God, to win all the indigenous groups in Sarawak to Christ. I also hope that the BM ministry will be an example of multi-cultural community where all races can praise God in one language \u2013 BM of which we can all understand. In other words, BM church is for all races, not only indigenous people.<\/p>\n

\nI believe that the BM churches under SCAC will prosper in the future. We have great resources like believers who are well-versed in BM and BM Bible. There is an increase in personnel serving in BM ministry, and the reach out territory is expanding as well. BM is a language whereby all Malaysian children learn from kindergarten until higher levels. The BM congregation will surely grow with the availability of reading materials and Bibles in BM.<\/p>\n

\nI am grateful as a member of God\u2019s family. As a child of God, I am keen to see the development in BM ministry just like that of the Chinese churches. I hope that the indigenous believers will increase in number and that they will be enthusiastic in spreading the gospel among their own people. The harvest is ready and we need labourers. Let\u2019s win souls for the Lord. The Lord is coming soon and I hope that we will seize the opportunities we have now.
