But to me, many of these items have become hard for me to accomplish due to anorexia.<\/p>\n<p>When people go out for lunch with friends, their main worry would probably be something like\u2026finding parking. But for someone with an eating disorder, going out for lunch would bring on a whole lot of negative thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat will I eat?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cToo many calories!!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI don\u2019t need to eat!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIf I eat that, I\u2019ll need to restrict for<br \/>\nthe rest of the week.\u201d Etc.<\/p>\n<p>Sounds absurd? Unfortunately, these thoughts are all too real, and very hard to deal with. They consume you and stop you from thinking rationally.<\/p>\n<p>WOW! Another legitimate reason why I should beat anorexia! Like they say, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step!<\/p>\n<p>My Recovery Bucket list:<br \/>\n\u2022 To reach a weight at which my body is physically happy and healthy<br \/>\n\u2022 Exercise for fun, not to burn calories<br \/>\n\u2022 Enjoy a meal with my family 100% anxiety free<br \/>\n\u2022 Spontaneously eat something<br \/>\n\u2022 Eat pizza with Melody<br \/>\n\u2022 Share a plate of Kampua noodles with daddy<br \/>\n\u2022 Eat KFC with mummy<br \/>\n\u2022 Eat laksa with Stanley<br \/>\n\u2022 Finish a portion of ice cream<br \/>\n\u2022 Order something from Starbucks (not black coffee)<br \/>\n\u2022 Order a milkshake\/smoothie<br \/>\n\u2022 Eat an entire muffin\/bakery item<br \/>\n\u2022 Enjoy a meal\/dessert outing with friends<br \/>\n\u2022 Order food based on what I want \u2013 not on what anorexia wants<br \/>\n\u2022 Choosing to eat because I NEED to<br \/>\n\u2022 Not reading food labels whilst shopping<br \/>\n\u2022 Not to count calories<br \/>\n\u2022 Eat toast with spread<br \/>\n\u2022 Enjoy chocolate again<br \/>\n\u2022 Having the courage to try new\/different foods with unknown calorie contents<br \/>\n\u2022 Eat cereal without measuring it out<br \/>\n\u2022 Enjoy pasta again<br \/>\n\u2022 Have a piece of someone\u2019s birthday cake<br \/>\n\u2022 Add toppings to oatmeal and cook it with milk<br \/>\n\u2022 Not to fear oils and fats<br \/>\n\u2022 Not to fear carbohydrates (ie rice, noodles, bread, pasta etc.)<br \/>\n\u2022 To have no anxiety whilst eating around others<br \/>\n\u2022 Try different kinds of sushi without picking away the rice\/sauce<br \/>\n\u2022 Learn to try red meat<br \/>\n\u2022 Not fear cheese\/dairy products<br \/>\n\u2022 To have my hair not constantly fall out<br \/>\n\u2022 Not feel cold all the time<br \/>\n\u2022 To stop all forms of self-harm<br \/>\n\u2022 Make my family not worry about me anymore<br \/>\n\u2022 Raise awareness for eating disorders<br \/>\n\u2022 Help others struggling with similar issues<br \/>\n\u2022 Not be tempted to restrict or skip meals<br \/>\n\u2022 Stop comparing myself to others Long Term Bucket List:<br \/>\n\u2022 Graduate from university<br \/>\n\u2022 Participate in a charity fun run<br \/>\n\u2022 Go on study exchanges abroad<br \/>\n\u2022 Travel the world, experience new cultures<br \/>\n\u2022 Go on a mission trip<br \/>\n\u2022 Find a boyfriend (Ha\u2026)<br \/>\n\u2022 Learn to love my body the way God created it<br \/>\n\u2022 Help others to embrace their inner beauty rather than focusing on their outer beauty<br \/>\n\u2022 Create lifetime memories in Uni<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop a closer relationship with God<br \/>\n\u2022 Not feel guilt after eating<br \/>\n\u2022 Donate blood (You cannot donate blood if you\u2019re under 45kg)<br \/>\n\u2022 Speak at events, churches etc. to raise awareness and share my story<br \/>\n\u2022 Return to my old self \u2013 the daughter my parents knew and the sister my siblings knew before her eating disorder took over<br \/>\n\u2022 To try not to relapse into anorexia. But realising that even if I do, I am able to recognise it and walk out stronger than before.<\/p>\n<p>Of course this list will be ever changing \u2013 things will be crossed off when completed, and new ones added.
