Agape Grace Methodist Church of Miri co-organized a Sunday School Children’s party on 16th Dec 2018 with Grace Methodist Church. 150 children registered with more than 20 walk in participants. The event also saw Mathew Tang, the song leader handling the singing session well with a few other young musician friends of his. About 15 teachers from both churches were on hand to help out. 50 ushers enthusiastically handled the event at this big hall.
The children enthusiastically sang all the songs and were most entertaining when they did action songs. The time passed very quickly when the children enjoyed themselves so much.
The highlight of the event was the Puppet show called, The Gift, performed by Team J which consisted of 5 expert puppeteers, who were actually all Sunday School teachers. All the children and their parents watched very attentively. The show should be encouraged to travel from church to church!!
All the children were treated to a lovely “Gift Box”, snack and drink at the end of the show. It was a good experience for many older Sunday School Children. Even the small ones felt at home, especially when they were helped by loving and older caring Sunday School studentsd. The children were orderly and behaved extremely well in this public hall. Adults who accompanied them were helpful and very hands on too.
It was a truly fun time for both the parents and the children in the Gymkhana Hall.
At the same time, more than 70 parents attended a “Parenting talk on media addiction” at the Kenanga Lounge in the same club. The speaker was Dr Charis who spoke in Chinese and the translator was Pastor Linberg Wong. Dr Charis is a Licensed Professional Psychologist, an expertise in women, kids, and teenage relational problem.
Dr Charis conducted a talk on that same morning at Agape Grace on “Anxiety and Depression” followed by a talk on “Love and codependency” with the youth after service.
The two events in GCM started at 2.45 pm and ended at 5 p.m.
They were well organized and the attendance was very encouraging. Praise God.
