MISSIONS: Glenda’s journey back to Sarawak

Thank you Wesley Church for making the Jevans (Glenda Cox and Tony) feel so welcome and included. Thank you for your LOVE and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. The Chinese Methodist Church in Sarawak is alive, strong and well equipped to evangelize, disciple, and bring in a “harvest” of souls.

I was so grateful for the number of men in small group Bible studies as many American churches lack the leadership of men. This is exemplified by your sixteen years of outreach to the Iban longhouses. What a commitment and following the Lord’s command to “go and make disciples”. I know it can be difficult, tiring, and costly in terms of time, talent, and finances but think of the joy of seeing persons in Heaven that were introduced to Jesus.

It was obvious that much prayer, witnessing, and teaching had been done at the longhouse, and it was wonderful to join Colin, George and Peter in ministry on Saturday, 20th October 2018. It was thrilling to see the children and adults actively participating in praising God through singing, willing to read aloud in unison from their Bibles, memorizing scripture, and being attentive to teaching.

It was an honor and highlight of my “journey back to Sarawak” to speak and pray with the people gathered there. Their eagerness to desire prayer and receive the Bible story books was humbling. You have my congratulations for being obedient to our Lord’s command.

The Church’s strong foundation on the Word of God, Prayer, Praise and Worship enables you to minister with God’s authority and anointing. As you pray and fast and ask the Holy Spirit to center you on His move of the Spirit, much is being accomplished for His Kingdom. Hallelujah!

Some of my observations are that though many generations of Ibans living in darkness without the revelation of Jesus Christ there are still generational strongholds that can be barriers to total commitment and maturity in Christ. But, these strongholds can be “broken off”. Prayer is your greatest weapon. As some pray and fast, others declare and decree that God’s truth and promises be established. As others praise and worship Him in Spirit and Truth, the walls of strongholds of doubt and unbelief are broken. Many “giants” of witchcraft will continue raising their ugly heads unless you “bind and loosen” in the mighty name of Jesus and by the POWER of His shed blood on Calvary.

These “giants” tend to be Intimidation, Humiliation, Accusation, Depression, Addiction, Deception, Manipulation, Lust, Control, Pollution, and Delusion. Word curses are real as well as trauma to the SOUL. As you worship, praise and invite His manifest presence, He does the work of deliverance, healing the soul, transforming mind, body, soul and Spirit so persons can receive His mercy, grace and unconditional love. Oh, what an awesome God we serve. We can love Him because He first loved us; shed His blood on the Cross. Death, hell and the grave could not hold our resurrected Lord. He is the Great I Am! Oh, how we thank Him.

I believe with you for great miracles of deliverance, healing and salvation. May they align their will with God’s Will so that hearts are circumcised to receive the Word with great revelation and a determination to trust and obey Him. I believe that a viable, faithful and steadfast Iban congregation will emerge with Spirit-filled leaders and pastors. Blessed are all who hear the Word of God and put it into practice.
