MTS Newsletter DEC 2017: A NOTE from the Principal

with No Comments

Greetings in the blessed name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

After a busy and fruitful year, MTS is now quiet as the all students returned home and some begin their year-end field work in different local churches. The lecturers are working hard to complete the grading of term papers.

We give thanks for God’s providence and guidance in 2017. In our recent 19th graduation service, we have graduated 34 graduates in total (25 from various programs and 9 from the TEE program). God willing, we will be welcoming 17 new students and 2 returnees in 2018. More than 120 STMS students will pack the small community. Do remember these students who are going to journey with us to be Christ’s faithful disciple and to proclaim Him (Col. 1: 28).

We thank many of you for generously supporting the theological students through your theological education contributions and Friends of MTS (supporting Iban students and foreign students).

With much joy and excitement, we solicit your prayer and support for a newly established Religion and Culture Centre (RCC). The RCC aims to promote dialogues and understandings between major faith groups in this land. The inauguration service will be held on May 18-19, 2018. Relevant talks have been planned in conjunction with this occasion and you are most welcome in this event. In the next three years, we will be launching a foundation of RM2 million for RCC. We urge you to generously contribute towards this ministry.

In my recent visit to many churches, I am aware that many of you have not had the opportunity to visit MTS. Let me take this opportunity to sincerely welcome you to our campus. Many have yet to utilize the MTS library and to participate in the many TEE programs we offer for you. Welcome and be part of MTS!

Merry Christmas and a blessed new year!
