How Selfish We Are! (Reflection on the 6th BM Ministry Forum)

with No Comments

BY God’s grace I joined the Sixth BM Ministry Forum. Before leaving for Miri from Sarikei, I prayed to God that I would be able to attend the forum without disturbance. Thanks, Lord, for answering my prayer for I left my phone at home!

I attended the forum with an attitude of learning. I had been in regular contact with the indigenous people and my Indonesian colleagues. I was also invited to join the longhouse ministry and the Short Term Mission. So far I have declined these invitations for I feel that I know little about them. Despite knowing the urgency of BM Ministry I have been giving a lot of excuses to decline the invitations. I never had the courage to take the first step.

After attending the forum, I was deeply shocked. Lord! How selfish we are! After being richly blessed by You we have been ignoring the needs of others, Lord! How we owe You!

The important lesson that I learnt is not to hesitate when doing God’s work. Submit to the Lord and believe that with Him nothing is impossible. He will always provide all our needs. “I don’t know, I can’t, I dare not” are just excuses that stop us from taking the first step.

In fact the largest harvest field for BM Ministry is just by our side and in our neighbourhood! On top of caring and praying for those pioneers who work so hard in this ministry, we can also work with them as well as support the ministry financially. There is nothing that we can’t do, we can be “united”! We all have received the same grace and blessing, it is just how willing we are to share this love and grace to our neighbour. Walk our talk of love by starting from us, start with small things and let God’s love start from us! Amen!
