Philippians 2: 4-5 says: “Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.”
For the past five years, God has blessed Gereja Methodist Tudan, Miri with an opportunity to serve the underprivileged children around its vicinity.

We started Tudan Learning Centre with simple faith, to help those underprivileged children not to lose the chance to learn. Only after opening the centre, we discovered that, a great number of children were in great need.

Just as its name, the Centre is a learning entity. It provides not only preschool education, but also caters for the needs for many older children. There is an increasing number each year and thus the increasing financial burden to the Centre. Our God is Jehovah Jireh. Besides financial aids, He also gave us eight child-loving teachers to teach at the Centre. They dedicated their skills to the Lord for these children to help and grow with them. Owing to these caring teachers, many parents came to church.

In February 2019, 21 children successfully applied into the schools nearby for primary and secondary education. We were very happy for them as they yearned to go to school like other children to gain knowledge and certificates and make friends.

When the teachers got them uniforms, stationeries and other necessities and were ready to move into dorms in schools, they were sad to leave the Centre. They hugged the teachers long and hard. After a few years at the Centre, they have built close relationships with the loving teachers and were like a family. It was a tearful goodbye. May God bless them at their new environments and help them to learn better.

Be blessed like we are!
The 70 children came with a different story each. God brought them here so that Tudan Learning Centre can provide learning assistance to make their dreams come true. In order for our church to be a church after God’s own heart, we pray that God will enhance our faith to continue to serve these children and to win them for Christ Jesus.

I understand that not all churches are having this opportunity to serve underprivileged children, however, I sincerely hope that more will be blessed just like us, the Tudan Learning Centre.

We also hope that more people will join our adoption plan to support these under-privileged children. The fee for a child is RM 250 monthly and RM 3000 for a year. Anyone interested can contact me at 013-8213779, let’s bring blessing to many more kids around us.
