I would like to give thanks to God and my parents for they have given me this opportunity to join the Cambodia mission trip. It was a great joy because I felt the love of God throughout this trip.
My first impression of Cambodia was how hot it was. However, towards the last few days the weather changed
and became much cooler.
Before the trip one of the advisors, Bryan, told us that we had to dig our own hole for toilet and bathe in open air, I was rather intimidated and thought of staying at home instead of suffering in such a manner. But since I already made the decision to go, I decided that there was no turning back at this point.
My goal for this trip was to get to know more about the people there, and to evangelize to those who have yet to know God. Before the trip, I prayed hard as I felt I had lost the confidence in leading in the Sunday School Ministry. But God was there for me throughout the trip as everything turned out great for my team partner and I.
When I attended the church service in Cambodia, I was touched to see the Cambodians praising God in their own tongue. Then God reminded me that HE loves everybody regardless of nationality & race; how poor or how rich you are, or what language they are speaking. God reminded me that those who turn their heart to God, praising Him will come naturally.
All glory to God for His guidance and leading. When my turn came to share a Bible story, I felt nervous and awkward as this was my first time doing so. Luckily our team leader, Aunty Tracy helped me to continue when I finished my sharing as there was still time left. I am also thankful that there was a translator that helped me to translate and the children could understand the message that I shared.
After this trip, I really appreciate what God has blessed me with. Life is wonderful when you believe in God and pray every day.
In conclusion, I would like to encourage and challenge everyone to step out and join a mission trip if you have not done so before.
