– Please pray for the speaker, choir, rehearsal time, the order of service for the night, venue, PA system, and weather.

4. Passion with MTS

Prayer items:
– In conjunction with the Holy Week, daily morning chapel service with the theme “Passion and Dedication” will be geared to replace the annual event – “MTS Night” in Sibu district. We hope that through this, the participants can reevaluate their own life, and be willing to response to the love of God by dedicating themselves to Him. May the Holy Spirit works among brothers and sisters in Christ, so that they are able to and be willing to wake up early, in order to participate in MTS morning chapel services during the Holy Week.
– Pray for God’s guidance among all the participants, through the order of worship and also the Word of God, that they are willing to response to God’s calling

5. Interaction Forums on Contemporary Issues
MTS Wesley Centre takes up the challenge to organize interaction forums on contemporary issues from time to time, in order for the church to play a prophetic and mis¬sional role in the society.
The first interaction forum in year 2016 was held on 28th January at Wei Kuok Hall, Sibu, on the issue “Can Chris¬tians participate in the ‘Lion Dance’?”. The speaker was Rev. Dr. Francis Wong King Sing, the lecturer of Chris¬tian Theology and Apologetics in MTS.

The Centre is going to host three more interaction forums in 2016:
1) 14/4/2016 (Thursday) SCAC Sibu West District Combined Prayer meeting cum Interaction Forum Theme: Anti-Corruption: Mission Impossible?
Speaker: Brother Hii Chang Kee ( one of the lay leaders of SCAC and the Resident of Sibu Division)
2) 28/7/2016 (Thursday 8:30-9:30pm) Wei Kuok Hall, Sibu Theme: Is Heavy Metal Music evil?
Speaker: Rev. Dr. Lu Chen Tiong (Director of Worship and Music program, MTS)
3) 13/10/2016 (Thursday 8:30-9:30pm) Wei Kuok Hall, Sibu Theme: Hudud Law from a Christian perspective
Speaker: Brother Wong Seng Ho (a lawyer and member of Mei Ann Methodist Church, Miri).
(We welcome all to the above forums. Admission is free.)

– Please pray for every speaker, venue, PA system, electricity supply for every interaction forum.
– Please pray that all the interaction forums will run smoothly.

6.9th Wesleyan Seminar
Theme: Wesleyan Views of Eschatology Date: 15th – 17th August 2016
Purposes:
1) To have a more in-depth study of Wesleyan theology and its impact in the area of eschatology.
2) To spread scriptural holiness across the land of Malaysia and other countries, bringing along the renewal of churches and transformation of nations, through a profound biblical as well as Wesleyan understanding of eschatology.

7. How You Can Support Our Ministry
A. To Prav for our needs and to support our General Fund The estimated expenses for year 2016:
2016 Budget for Expenses

The total expenses of MTS for year 2016, estimated to be about one million and forty thousand Ringgit Malaysia. Please pray for God’s providence to¬wards “MTS General Fund”. Pray that more brothers and sisters are willing to give and support MTS ministry financially. We welcome brothers and sisters to participate in the work of God. Please specify your offering as “MTS General Fund”.

B. To become “Friends of MTS”
There are some students from the lban churches and foreign nations such as China who need committed churches and church members to support them. Besides the needy students, we also have lecturers who need con¬stant upgrading in order to provide better training for our students. Such upgrading also needs funding. We are inviting you to prayerfully consider supporting them.

We thank the Lord for the responses from some churches and members in becoming the “Friends of MTS”. As until 1st January, 2016, amounts received for “Friends of MTS” are as follow (based on the number of stu-dents for this year):
1. Among the 10 I ban students, 3 are supported: received RM95,278. Still short of RM 172,320 to support the other 7 lban students until they graduate.
2. Among the 7 students from Chi¬na, 5 are supported: received RM 167,200. Still short of RM48,930 to support the other 2 students from China until they graduate.
3. Support in Faculty upgrading: RM 20,900

If the Lord leads you to support our needy students and lecturers, we will acknowledge you as “Friends of MTS”. Please fill up a “Friends of MTS” Sponsorship form and submit to MTS. You may pledge to sponsor one or more students until gradu¬ation. You may also choose to do¬nate a sum of money on a regular or irregular basis.
