45th session of SIAC
The 45th Annual Conference of the Sarawak Iban Annual Conference of the Methodist Church was successfully held on October 31. Rev. Bonnie Sedau, who is currently the pasturing a church in Johor Bahru, was elected as the new president for the term of office 2021-2024. The Lay-leader of the Annual Conference is Dato Alice Jawan, the Treasurer is Richmond Nyaring, and Mamat Unggat, Secretary.
Because of the pandemic and MCO, the 45th SIAC was held online by ZOOM. Pastors and church representatives attended online meetings in Sibu, Kuching and Johor Bahru, while Bishop Ong Hwai Teck attended in Kuala Lumpur. The Conference started at noon on October 31 and ended at 6 pm on November 1.
Brief introduction to Rev. Bonnie Sedau:
1990 Graduated from STM (B.Th.)
1991-1998 Pastoring in the longhouses in Ulu Entabai,
Julau, Naman, Durin, and Kanowit.
1999-2001 STM for to further his training (M.min &M.Theo.)
2002-2005 Pastoring in Kuching Iban Church
2006-2015 Pastoring in churches around Sibu
2016-2020 Pastoring in the Iban Church in Johor Bahru
